No wound heals through strength alone.
Desire Influence: Compassion

Long before you answered the call to adventure, your hands were devoted to easing the burdens of others. Whether serving as a village healer, temple attendant, midwife, hospice keeper, counselor, or devoted family guardian, you learned that true strength is often measured not by victory in battle, but by the quiet acts of kindness that allow others to rise again.
Throughout Erosia, caretakers are among the most respected members of any community. They tend the sick, comfort the grieving, welcome new life into the world, and remain beside those preparing to leave it. In temples dedicated to Velyssara and many other deities, they preserve the sacred traditions of comfort, hospitality, and aftercare, reminding all who seek their aid that healing is more than mending flesh—it is restoring heart, spirit, and hope.
To a caretaker, desire is expressed through compassion. You understand that every creature longs to be seen, comforted, and accepted in moments of vulnerability. Even as an adventurer, you instinctively notice exhaustion, fear, and quiet suffering, offering encouragement where others might only see weakness.
Many caretakers leave their homes to answer a greater calling, carrying their gifts into dangerous places where mercy is often needed most. Whether tending companions after battle, comforting frightened strangers, or offering hope to those who have none, you believe every act of kindness has the power to change the course of a life.

Your calm demeanor and genuine compassion help others feel safe in your care. When you spend a few minutes tending to a creature’s physical or emotional well-being, you can usually earn its trust unless you have given it reason to fear you. In settlements, temples, hospices, and healing houses, you can often secure modest medical assistance, temporary shelter, or introductions to local healers willing to share information or offer aid.
