Play
Erosia is built for characters whose history, identity, desires and adventuring path matter together. If you already know Fifth Edition fantasy roleplaying, much of the foundation will feel familiar. The sections below introduce the player options and systems that make a character distinctly Erosian. You do not need to read everything before you begin. Start with the character you want to play, then follow the paths that matter to them.

Build Your First Erosian Character
New to character creation in Erosia?
Begin here.
Building Your First Erosian Character walks through the complete process from an initial idea to a playable adventurer, showing how Race, Background, Class, desire, belief and mechanics can connect without requiring every character to follow the same story.
Along the way, Pip Emberkettle serves as a worked example of what that process can produce.
Character Foundations
Three choices establish the foundation of most Erosian characters.
Peoples of Erosia
Who are you?
Explore the playable peoples and lineages of Erosia, including their traits, cultures, histories and perspectives.
Your heritage provides a beginning. It does not determine who your character must become.

Player Backgrounds
What happened before?
Backgrounds describe the formative life your character lived before adventuring and the competencies that life produced.
Erosia includes both conventional Backgrounds and Desire-Shaped Backgrounds, allowing personal fascination and desire to become part of character history when appropriate.

Player Classes
What do you do now?
Player Classes define the path through which your character adventures, fights, creates, protects, casts, performs or otherwise acts upon the world.
Most Erosian Classes build upon familiar Fifth Edition foundations while giving those archetypes distinctly Erosian identities. Original Erosian Classes expand those possibilities further. Invoker is playable now, with a complete class progression and thirteen available Living Legend Champions.

Mechanics of Desire
Desire is not merely a theme in Erosia. It can become part of play.
The Mechanics of Desire provide rules for emotional pressure, temptation, Arousal, Libido, EROS Saves, Climax and the class features that interact with them.
Tables decide together how deeply those mechanics enter play.
- Veiled Play keeps their presentation and management lighter.
- Unveiled Play uses the complete system.
Consent and player agency remain foundational at either level.

Deepen Your Character
Not every character needs the same knowledge of Erosia. Once the foundations are in place, these sections can help you understand the beliefs, powers and traditions surrounding your character.

Magic
Explore the Veil, magical traditions, spellcasting, primordial forces, the Three Mothers, the Three Moons and the philosophies through which Erosians understand magic.
This is the primary reference for players creating characters whose abilities intersect strongly with Erosia’s magical traditions.

The Pantheon of Erosia
Explore the gods, divine domains and traditions of faith found throughout Erosia.
A character’s beliefs may influence their values, culture and identity whether or not divine power has anything to do with their Class.
