Amarosa rises along the coast in layers of rose-tinted stone, flowering terraces and bridges draped in living vines. The scent of rosewater, fruit wine and warm sea air follows visitors through crowded markets, temple courtyards and lantern-lit promenades.

Known throughout Erosia as a center of beauty, emotional expression and sacred intimacy, Amarosa welcomes pilgrims, artists, merchants, adventurers and those simply searching for somewhere new to become themselves.

Yet the city has roots far deeper than its sunlit streets.

Beneath the gardens and pleasure houses lie forgotten tunnels, abandoned sanctuaries and the vast Rosethorn Chasm — a wound in the earth filled with remnants of Amarosa’s oldest mysteries.

Amarosa is one of the easiest places to begin an Erosian story. A visitor can spend an evening drinking beneath flowering balconies, negotiate with merchants the following morning and be descending into ruins older than the city before nightfall.

The City in Bloom

Amarosa is built vertically across cliffs and terraces overlooking the sea. Wealth, worship, trade and history mingle freely here, but each layer of the city possesses its own rhythm.

Heartblossom Heights

The highest terraces of Amarosa hold marble temples, noble estates, courtesan monasteries and gardens overlooking the coastline. The city’s spiritual and political powers gather here beneath balconies that blush pink beneath the setting sun.

Petalweave Quarter

The living heart of Amarosa.

Markets, bathhouses, theaters, perfumers, tea houses, artisans and crowded public plazas fill its winding streets. Most travelers encounter Amarosa here first, and many eventually find their way toward the Blossom Promenade and the House of the Sacred Bloom.

Underbriar Warrens

Older Amarosa survives beneath the streets.

Forgotten tunnels, sealed chambers, hidden shrines and collapsed structures spread beneath the city. Some have become homes, workshops or illicit markets. Others remain sealed for good reason.

The Rosethorn Chasm

Far below Amarosa yawns the Rosethorn Chasm, a vast descent of ancient ruins, overgrown corridors and forgotten sacred places.

For adventurers, explorers and scholars, the Chasm represents one of Amarosa’s greatest mysteries — and one of its greatest dangers.

Life in Amarosa

Amarosa does not separate beauty from everyday life.

Flowering vines climb public buildings. Perfume sellers compete with spice merchants. Street performers share plazas with temple processions. Bathhouses function as social spaces as much as places of rest, while courtesans, priests, artisans and adventurers frequently occupy the same tables.

Desire is present here, but Amarosa is more than indulgence. It is a city fascinated by expression — of beauty, faith, identity, affection, ambition and transformation.

Visitors are rarely asked simply who they are.

Amarosa is much more interested in who they are becoming.
