WORLD OF EROSIA
“The world itself is a story waiting to be entered.”
Overview
Erosia is a world where desire is recognized as one of the fundamental forces of existence. It is not treated as weakness or temptation alone, but as the quiet impulse that drives every living creature to grow, create, explore, love, and become something greater than they were before. Throughout history, its peoples have built civilizations upon this understanding, weaving emotion, ambition, devotion, and curiosity into nearly every aspect of daily life.
Although desire shapes the philosophy of the world, Erosia is first and foremost a land of adventure. Ancient ruins disappear beneath flowering forests, forgotten temples slumber beneath thriving cities, and unexplored frontiers stretch far beyond the edges of every map. Countless mysteries remain unsolved, and every generation uncovers new remnants of civilizations whose names have long since faded into legend.
Across the world, hundreds of cultures flourish beneath the watchful gaze of the Three Mothers and the ever-present influence of the divine pantheon. Bustling trade cities stand beside quiet farming villages, sacred groves border sprawling kingdoms, and isolated monasteries cling to windswept mountain peaks. No two regions share the same traditions, yet all are touched in some way by the invisible currents of the Veil.
Unlike many fantasy worlds where darkness continually threatens to overwhelm civilization, Erosia is fundamentally optimistic. Most people live ordinary lives filled with family, celebration, craftsmanship, scholarship, and faith. Danger certainly exists, but heroism is measured not only by defeating monsters, but also by restoring balance, healing old wounds, protecting communities, and preserving the beauty that already exists.
Magic flows naturally throughout the world. Scholars devote their lives to understanding its laws, priests receive miracles through devotion, druids cultivate ancient bonds with nature, and countless traditions blend practical spellcraft with regional customs. Even those who never learn to wield magic themselves often live alongside its wonders, treating enchanted gardens, living architecture, and magical conveniences as ordinary parts of daily life.
The people of Erosia are equally diverse. Humans, giants, dragonkin, beastfolk, constructs, spirits, and dozens of other ancestries travel the same roads, gather in the same marketplaces, and share stories beneath the same moonlit skies. While cultures differ, cooperation is far more common than isolation, and most communities are accustomed to welcoming travelers from distant lands.

At the center of countless stories stands Amarosa, the City of Blossoms. Built atop the immense labyrinth known as Rosethorn Chasm, Amarosa serves as one of the greatest centers of learning, commerce, exploration, and faith in the known world. From its streets, adventurers depart in search of forgotten relics, scholars pursue lost knowledge, pilgrims seek divine inspiration, and the Bloomseekers Guild organizes expeditions into the mysteries below.
Yet Amarosa is only one chapter in a far larger world. Beyond its walls lie nations yet to be explored, ancient civilizations waiting to be rediscovered, distant seas filled with hidden islands, towering mountain ranges untouched for centuries, and forests where the oldest spirits still whisper beneath ancient boughs. Every road promises another story, every ruin conceals another mystery, and every journey offers the chance to discover something entirely unexpected.
Whether you seek forgotten history, heroic adventure, divine mystery, or simply a place where hope still has room to bloom, the world of Erosia invites you to take the first step.
Cosmology
Erosia’s cosmology is a living chain of creation, descending from the unknowable Three Mothers to Velyssara, Goddess of Lust, Sex, and Life, and from her into the primordial powers that shaped existence. The Primordial Titans gave form to the great cosmic forces, the Elemental Sovereigns refined those forces into the structures of the world, and the Giants carried that shaping into the age of mortal life. Beneath them, mortals inherit a world where divine power, elemental memory, desire, and life remain inseparably entwined. In Erosia, creation is not a distant event—it is an ongoing current that still moves through the land, the gods, and every living soul.
Divinity
Divinity in Erosia is not distant, abstract, or removed from mortal life. The gods are living expressions of desire, identity, instinct, beauty, devotion, pleasure, restraint, and countless other forces that shape the mortal experience. Each deity embodies a distinct truth and gathers followers who explore that truth through ritual, philosophy, community, and personal practice. Worship is therefore less about obedience than relationship: mortals seek guidance, transformation, understanding, and sometimes direct communion with the divine. The gods may influence the world through omens, blessings, sacred places, chosen servants, and rare manifestations, but mortal choice remains central. In Erosia, divinity does not replace desire or agency—it gives them sacred meaning.
History
The story of Erosia began long before the first cities were raised or the earliest kingdoms were founded. Ancient powers shaped the world, divine beings guided the course of creation, and civilizations flourished before vanishing beneath the passage of countless ages. Much of this history survives only in fragments, preserved within forgotten ruins, sacred traditions, and the oldest songs still remembered today.
Current Day
Today, Erosia enjoys an age of exploration unlike any seen in generations. Trade flourishes between distant regions, scholars continually uncover forgotten knowledge, and adventurers venture farther into the unknown than ever before. Organizations such as the Bloomseekers Guild sponsor expeditions into ancient ruins, while temples, universities, and independent explorers compete to unravel the world’s greatest mysteries.
Although peace prevails across much of the known world, countless unanswered questions remain hidden beneath the surface. Lost civilizations, unexplored wilderness, divine relics, and the endless depths of Rosethorn Chasm ensure that the greatest discoveries may still lie ahead.
Lands
Known Erosia is a land shaped by dramatic contrasts: storm-washed western coasts, fertile river valleys, broken highlands, and a vast mountain spine that divides the continent both physically and climatically. Beyond those peaks, the land opens into drier rain-shadow plains and harsher eastern reaches, while the north rises toward colder uplands and frostbound country. To the south, warmer lowlands, wooded basins, and broad coastal veils gather around rivers that descend from the mountains toward the sea. Offshore shoals, rocky islands, hidden coves, and mist-bound waters make the western edge feel as untamed as the interior. Across Erosia, geography is not merely scenery; mountains, rivers, climate, and isolation shape cultures as deeply as the gods themselves.

Cities & Settlements
The cities of Erosia grow from the character of the land around them, each shaped as much by climate, trade, and isolation as by culture or faith. Amarosa, already established as one of the great cultural hearts of known Erosia, stands along the western coast where commerce, pilgrimage, art, pleasure, and divine tradition readily intermingle. Farther inland, Caelspire rises among the high mountains as a city of stone terraces, elevated roads, shrines, observatories, and fortified passes; Hearthvein occupies the fertile country below the central ranges, prospering through agriculture, craft, river trade, and access to the mineral wealth of the mountains. Along the warmer southern coast, Virille serves as a verdant maritime settlement of gardens, harbors, vineyards, and river-fed estates, while Saefrune, beyond the mountain rain shadow, has adapted to a harsher land through wells, caravan routes, shaded courtyards, and carefully guarded water.
Beyond these greater cities lie hundreds of smaller settlements: fishing villages clinging to mistbound shores, mountain communities built beside hot springs and passes, river towns surrounded by orchards and cultivated fields, isolated monasteries, woodland enclaves, caravan stations, and ancient settlements whose foundations predate any surviving record. Even the colder reaches toward Frostmere sustain communities adapted to long winters and difficult travel. There is no single Erosian model for civilization; settlements emerge wherever mortals find a reason to remain, transforming geography into home while carrying the customs, desires, and divine traditions of their people with them.

Cultures & Societies
Erosia is home to a wide range of cultures, each shaped by ancestry, environment, divine influence, and local tradition. Across most societies, women hold the dominant social and political roles, though the expression of that dominance varies greatly from region to region. Communities may organize themselves around noble houses, priesthoods, trade guilds, martial orders, extended families, or communal traditions, and no single model defines Erosian civilization. What unites them is a shared cultural understanding that identity, desire, beauty, devotion, and self-expression are meaningful parts of mortal life.
Social customs differ widely, but consent and personal agency remain foundational principles throughout Erosia. Adulthood is recognized through the Age of Bloom, which varies by ancestry and culture, and meaningful consent requires maturity, capacity, and freely given choice. From cosmopolitan courts and temple-centered communities to woodland clans, mountain enclaves, nomadic peoples, and secluded settlements, Erosian societies reflect the same central truth: culture is not merely inherited—it is continuously shaped by the people who live it.

Peoples of Erosia
The peoples of Erosia are as varied as the lands they inhabit, shaped by ancient bloodlines, divine influence, elemental inheritance, and generations of mingling between ancestries. Humans live alongside the Children of the Veil, the many Beastkin peoples, Dracari, giant-blooded lineages, stranger plant- and sea-touched folk, and constructed beings such as the Fleshforged. Mixed ancestry is equally part of Erosian life, producing Veilkin and countless regional lineages whose bodies and traditions reflect more than one heritage.
Ancestry in Erosia influences appearance, instinct, lifespan, and inherited gifts, but it does not dictate culture or destiny. Members of the same people may belong to radically different nations, faiths, professions, and ways of life. Erosia therefore treats its peoples not as isolated categories, but as living lineages continually reshaped by migration, love, divine intervention, and the choices of each new generation.
Factions & Orders
Across Erosia, countless factions, orders, guilds, temples, societies, and informal alliances shape daily life beyond the reach of kingdoms and city walls. Some are devoted to faith, scholarship, craft, trade, exploration, or martial service, while others exist to protect local traditions, pursue hidden knowledge, preserve ancient sites, or advance particular philosophies.
These groups vary widely in size and influence, from small regional circles to organizations with members scattered across the known world. Their loyalties may align with cities, deities, noble houses, professions, or shared ideals, and many operate independently of formal government. In Erosia, factions and orders provide another way for people to belong, cooperate, compete, and leave their mark upon the world.

Mysteries & Lost Places
Erosia is an ancient land, and not everything within it is understood. Ruined sanctuaries, forgotten roads, sealed valleys, buried structures, abandoned settlements, and places touched by old magic remain scattered across the known world. Some have been lost to war, disaster, or the slow reclaiming of nature; others were deliberately hidden, sealed away, or simply forgotten.
Many of these places survive only in fragments of folklore, damaged records, or local superstition. Some hold relics of earlier ages, while others preserve dangers, secrets, or truths that were never meant to be rediscovered. In Erosia, the unknown is never far away, and even familiar lands may conceal histories beneath their surface.
