Unconfirmed sightings, impossible ecologies and the difficult distinction between monster and legend.

Not every story about a strange creature is reliable. Some are exaggerated. Some contain uncomfortable truths. Some describe beings who can be dangerous without being malevolent. The Cryptids of Erosia are creatures whose existence, origins, behavior or classification are contested, and whose legends can be tested at the table.

The Kaestra Catalogue

These entries are organized in the spirit of Morvane Kaestra, the Luminari Sigilwright and field chronicler. The MK seal identifies work she has authenticated, but this directory does not imply every legend was personally verified by her.

Using These Encounters

Each entry presents folklore, warning signs, creature behavior, 5e encounter abilities and a distinctive lair. Optional Veiled Play retains pressure and emotional themes without treating them as sexual Arousal. Unveiled Play uses the separate Arousal, Libido and EROS Save rules only when an eligible effect actually applies. A nonsexual resolution or surrender is not automatically a Climax.

The classifications here describe encounter function, not moral alignment. Some cryptids guard places; others are predators. Players can investigate, negotiate, withdraw or fight as the circumstances warrant.
