Description
Create a 20-foot-radius circle of flowering vines at a point on ground within range. Chosen creatures may move through it normally. For all other creatures, its terrain is difficult terrain. A hostile creature that enters the area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there must make a Wisdom saving throw; on a failure, its speed becomes 0 until the beginning of its next turn. The spell does not restrain, charm, or determine anyone’s intentions.
At Higher Levels. The radius increases by 5 feet for each slot above 4th.
Velvet Court Devotion. Talyss. Talyss’s fertility gardens protect growing life and celebrate the botanical body: blossom, fruit, seed and selected abundance, never forced transformation.
Devotional Rite. Once per casting, when a hostile creature fails the garden’s save while threatening a willing ally, that ally may use its reaction to move 5 feet within the garden without provoking opportunity attacks from the failed-save creature. The movement must remain on ground the ally can occupy.
- Veiled Effects. Willing creatures within the garden have advantage on the first Wisdom (Insight) check they make to notice a companion in distress during the spell.
- Unveiled Effects. When the garden prevents an actual aggressor from reaching a willing protected creature, you may gain 1 Arousal after the failed save. If you do, that creature gains temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus. You may gain Arousal this way only once per casting.
“The kindest garden knows when to close its gate.”
