Description
A 40-foot cube of shimmering false architecture appears at a point within range. Walls, doors, and corridors of moonlight can obscure sight but are intangible: creatures and objects pass through them normally. As part of casting, you choose up to six willing creatures who can see the palace. Those creatures recognize its layout and can see through its illusory walls. Other creatures perceive the walls as solid until they physically interact with one or succeed on an Intelligence (Investigation) check against your spell save DC as an action. The illusion creates no cover, damage, or difficult terrain, and truesight sees through it.
Velvet Court Devotion. Cyrillith. Cyrillith’s masquerade palace invites consenting adventurers into improvised roles; every illusion knows it is scenery, not a real prison.
Devotional Rite. Each willing creature you designated to see through the illusion may adopt a temporary theatrical title. The title appears above its head to other designated creatures only and grants no bonuses to Deception or authority over anyone.
- Veiled Effects. Once during the spell, a willing creature within the palace may Hide while visually concealed by an illusory wall, provided no observer with truesight can see it.
- Unveiled Effects. Once per casting, when a hostile creature spends its action investigating a false wall during an actual encounter, you may gain 1 Arousal. If you do, one willing creature inside may move up to half its speed using its reaction without provoking opportunity attacks from that hostile creature. Alternatively, spend 1 Libido when casting to increase the palace’s longest dimension to 60 feet, keeping the other two at 40 feet.
