Description
Choose a point you can see within range. A burst of thorn-red energy fills a 15-foot-radius sphere. Creatures in the area make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 5d6 piercing damage on a failed save or half as much on a success. Nonmagical vegetation in the area is not destroyed; harmless red blossoms appear for one minute and then fade.
At Higher Levels. Damage increases by 1d6 per slot above 3rd.
Velvet Court Devotion. Talyss. Talyss’s fruitful rites mingle botanical abundance, chosen fertility imagery and the wild joy of a garden that refuses to remain merely ornamental.
Devotional Rite. A willing creature chosen for the Veiled movement may cause its footsteps to bloom with harmless red blossoms until the start of your next turn. The blossoms do not create difficult terrain, provide cover, or compel any physical transformation.
- Veiled Effects. A willing creature you can see within the radius may use its reaction to move 5 feet immediately before the saving throw, possibly leaving the area; this movement provokes opportunity attacks normally.
- Unveiled Effects. When this spell damages at least one hostile creature that threatened you or an ally during the encounter, you may gain 1 Arousal after resolving damage. If you do, one willing ally in the area gains temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus. Once per casting; creatures are never forced to accept the benefit.
“The orchard guards its fruit with a hundred small answers.”
