Description
Choose up to four willing creatures within range. Each bears a spectral hand at its shoulder. When a protected creature takes damage, you may use your reaction to reduce that damage by 3d8 + your spellcasting ability modifier (minimum 1). You can use this reaction only once per round, regardless of how many creatures are protected. The spell ends for a target that becomes unwilling.
At Higher Levels. When cast with a slot above 5th, choose one additional willing creature for each higher slot level.
Velvet Court Devotion. Solynth. Solynth’s gentle-service rites teach that offering shelter is a form of devotion, not a claim upon the person sheltered.
Devotional Rite. Once per casting when you use this spell’s damage-reducing reaction, the protected willing creature may choose to gain 1 Arousal. If it does, you may move up to 10 feet toward it immediately without provoking opportunity attacks from the triggering attacker. This movement cannot pass through occupied spaces and does not change the damage reduction.
- Veiled Effects. If your reaction prevents all the damage, the protected creature may move up to 5 feet without provoking opportunity attacks from the attacker.
- Unveiled Effects. Once per casting, when you prevent damage to a creature other than yourself, you may gain 1 Arousal after the attack resolves; if you do, that willing creature may reduce its Arousal by 1. Alternatively, when you use the reaction, spend 1 Libido to increase its reduction by 2d8. You cannot combine these enhancements on the same reaction.
