Description
Choose one creature you can see within range. A remembered whisper turns to psychic static. The target makes a Wisdom saving throw, taking 6d8 psychic damage on a failure or half as much on a success. On failure, it cannot take reactions until the start of your next turn. This spell does not force memories to surface or impose a permanent emotional state.
At Higher Levels. Damage increases by 1d8 for each slot above 4th.
Velvet Court Devotion. Eshthara. Eshthara’s dreamweavers explore hypnosis, suggestion and the seductive uncertainty of words half heard. A battlefield illusion never licenses taking control of desire or consent.
Devotional Rite. A creature damaged by the spell may hear the fading psychic whisper as a familiar lullaby or an unfamiliar murmur, chosen by you. This does not reveal actual memories, create a charm effect or force a target’s emotional response.
- Veiled Effects. The target’s outline flickers until the start of your next turn, making it easier to notice in dim light but not overriding magical invisibility.
- Unveiled Effects. If the target fails the save after damaging you or a willing ally during this encounter, you may gain 1 Arousal after the damage. If you do, it also has disadvantage on the first Wisdom (Perception) check it makes before the start of your next turn. Alternatively, spend 1 Libido when casting to deal 1d8 additional psychic damage. Do not combine enhancements.
“A final word weighs most on the one who refused to hear it.”
