Description
Choose up to five willing creatures within 30 feet of you when you cast. For the duration, each appears and sounds as an indistinct masked silhouette to creatures more than 10 feet away. Attackers beyond 10 feet who rely on sight have disadvantage on attack rolls against a masked target. A creature with truesight ignores the effect, as does any attacker within 10 feet. Each target must remain within 60 feet of you to benefit, and the spell ends for anyone who becomes unwilling. The mask provides no invisibility, cover, or disguise at close range.
Velvet Court Devotion. Cyrillith. Cyrillith’s costume and role rites treat identity as a costume one elects to wear or remove. The unspeaking mask can frame chosen allure or private anonymity.
Devotional Rite. Once per casting, a willing masked creature may remove its illusory mask publicly as a flourish. If at least one enemy relying on ordinary sight can see it, that creature may gain 1 Arousal to grant one other willing masked target advantage on the next Dexterity (Stealth) check it makes to Hide before the end of its next turn. This display cannot compel an audience to admire the wearer.
- Veiled Effects. A protected creature may dismiss its own mask at any time without an action; a faint silver petal remains in its space until the end of its turn.
- Unveiled Effects. Once per casting, when a hostile attack misses a willing masked creature because of disadvantage from this spell, you may gain 1 Arousal. If you do, that creature may reduce its Arousal by 1. Alternatively, spend 1 Libido when casting to increase the close-range threshold to 15 feet for one designated target. Choose only one option.
