Description
A 15-foot-radius dome of thorned ribs grows from ground at a point you choose within range. Creatures within the dome when it forms make a Dexterity saving throw; on failure, they are restrained by the ribs until they use an action to succeed on a Strength (Athletics) check against your spell save DC. The dome is difficult terrain, has AC 15 and 40 hit points, and disappears at 0 hit points. Creatures outside may attack through gaps, which provide half cover.
At Higher Levels. Dome hit points increase by 10 per slot above 4th.
Velvet Court Devotion. Rhaziel. Rhaziel’s chosen quarry rites explore ritual pursuit and voluntary capture. A thornvault built for combat does not convert an unwilling creature into a willing partner.
Devotional Rite. A creature you designated as willing when casting may voluntarily choose to be restrained by the dome at the start of its turn. If it does, it gains temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus, may dismiss its own restraint without an action at any time, and receives this benefit at most once per casting. It may not use this option if it is already restrained.
- Veiled Effects. Choose up to two willing creatures when casting; they automatically succeed on the initial save and can move through the dome normally.
- Unveiled Effects. When a genuinely hostile creature fails its save, you may gain 1 Arousal to grant the dome temporary hit points equal to twice your proficiency bonus. Alternatively, spend 1 Libido so a creature that fails its save takes 2d6 piercing damage immediately. These options cannot be combined.
