Description

You touch an unattended object that has remained in the same location for at least one year. Choose a single day within the past ten years. You perceive a silent sequence of up to three brief visual moments from that day, selected by the DM from events that happened within 10 feet of the object. Each moment lasts no more than six seconds. The spell does not expose speech, thoughts, events behind opaque barriers, or magically obscured scenes; a day with no significant activity may yield no images.

Velvet Court Devotion. Eshthara. Eshthara’s diviners use hypnagogic vision and imaginative recall, but they distinguish the traces of an event from a mind’s private dreams.

Devotional Rite. The caster may choose to experience the recovered visual moments as images on a private dream-screen visible only to them. Doing so forfeits any shared display, if otherwise available, but changes none of the information or its certainty.

  • Veiled Effects. One willing creature touching the object with you may see the same moments, but cannot change their selection.
  • Unveiled Effects. If the images reveal an actionable fact about a genuine unresolved danger or investigation, you may gain 1 Arousal after viewing them. If you do, one participating willing creature may reduce its Arousal by 1. The same object’s same selected day cannot grant you Arousal again until you complete a long rest.

“The dust remembers only what passed through the light.”
