Moontrail Warden
No darkness is complete while someone keeps the watch.
Lore Overview
A Moontrail Warden hears the wrongness in a silent camp and notices when a companion’s breathing changes before fear becomes flight. Choose this path for a scout and protector who discovers danger, steadies companions, and makes retreat possible. The moonlit trail is a covenant: those who travel with you will not be abandoned.
Your Arousal represents watchfulness that can become exhausting if carried without release. Rather than feeding an enemy’s desire, you read disturbances and spend your own stamina to help companions withstand emotional pressure. Your features interact with Arousal, EROSaves, Libido, and the moment of Climax without treating emotion as proof of hostile intent.

Watchful Circle
3rd-Level Subclass Feature
The watch begins wherever someone needs a safer passage.
As a bonus action, begin a watch lasting 1 minute. It ends if you are incapacitated. While watching, once per round when a creature you can see within 30 feet hits another creature you can see within 30 feet with an attack, you can use your reaction to reduce that attack’s damage by 1d6 + your Wisdom modifier (minimum reduction 1). You can begin a watch PB times per long rest. You must choose to intervene after the hit but before damage is rolled. The die becomes 1d8 at level 11.
Veiled Play. When you reduce damage with Watchful Circle, you may gain 1 Arousal to allow the protected creature to move 5 feet without provoking opportunity attacks from the attacker, after the attack resolves. The creature chooses whether to move.
Unveiled Play. While your watch is active, when another willing creature you can see within 30 feet fails an EROSave, you may use your reaction and spend 1 Libido to let it reroll that save. It must use the new result. On a success, you may gain 1 Arousal; this is optional and does not transfer the original effect to you. You cannot also reduce attack damage with the same reaction.
Ritual and Social Identity
3rd-Level Subclass Feature
Walking the boundary makes a resting place a shared responsibility.
During a short rest, spend 10 minutes walking a campsite’s boundary with willing companions. Choose up to PB participants. Each gains a +2 bonus to passive Perception while remaining in that campsite until the rest ends. This does not stack with another Moontrail Warden’s boundary ritual. In social scenes, your authority comes from asking what people need and identifying practical routes to safety; distress is never automatic evidence of deception.
Veiled Play. When the boundary walk ends, you may gain 1 Arousal to grant one willing participant advantage on its next EROSave before the campsite rest ends.
Unveiled Play. When the boundary walk ends, you may spend 1 Libido to let up to PB willing participants each reduce Arousal by 1. Each participant may receive this reduction once per long rest.
Read the Moontrail
7th-Level Subclass Feature
Physical traces reveal where frightened footsteps hurried away.
You gain proficiency in Insight or Perception; if already proficient in both, choose another Stalker skill. After 1 minute examining a campsite, trail, or room, you have advantage on one Investigation or Survival check to reconstruct signs of a hurried departure, struggle, or deliberate concealment there. This reads physical evidence, not thoughts. Veiled Play. When you successfully reconstruct a trail through Read the Moontrail, you may gain 1 Arousal. If you do, choose one willing companion who can hear you within 30 feet; it has advantage on its next Perception or Survival check to follow that trail before its next rest.
Unveiled Play. After reconstructing a trail with this feature, you may spend 1 Libido to reduce your own Arousal by 1 and let one companion within 30 feet who can hear you ignore nonmagical difficult terrain on that trail for 1 hour. This does not reveal magically concealed tracks.
Steady Lantern
7th-Level Subclass Feature
A steady lantern offers room to breathe without demanding stillness.
Veiled Play. As an action, choose a willing creature within 5 feet other than yourself. You may gain 1 Arousal to grant it temporary hit points equal to PB + your Wisdom modifier (minimum 1). Each recipient can receive this benefit once per short or long rest.
Unveiled Play. As an action, spend 1 Libido and choose a willing creature within 5 feet, including yourself. It reduces Arousal by 1 and gains advantage on its next EROSave within 1 minute. Each recipient can benefit once per short or long rest. This cannot interrupt a triggered Climax.
Safe Passage
11th-Level Subclass Feature
A guiding voice can make an escape route visible.
Once on each of your turns while Watchful Circle is active, you can replace one attack of your Attack action with guidance to a willing creature that can hear you within 30 feet. It may immediately use its reaction to move up to half its speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
Veiled Play. When giving this guidance, you may gain 1 Arousal; the creature may move up to its speed instead.
Unveiled Play. As an alternative to that Arousal gain, spend 1 Libido to grant the moving creature temporary hit points equal to your Stalker level after it moves. These temporary hit points last until the watch ends.
No One Left in Darkness
15th-Level Subclass Feature
No companion must face the dark merely because they fell behind.
When you use Watchful Circle to reduce attack damage, you may also give the protected creature resistance to that attack’s remaining damage. You can add this resistance PB times per long rest. Apply the damage reduction before resistance.
Veiled Play. Once per long rest, when you or a willing companion within 30 feet resolves Climax, you may use your reaction to let that creature move up to half its speed without opportunity attacks and gain temporary hit points equal to your Stalker level for 1 minute.
Unveiled Play. Once per long rest, after your own Climax resolves, you may use your reaction and spend 1 Libido to let one willing companion you can see within 30 feet reduce its Arousal by 2 and gain advantage on its next EROSave within 1 minute. This grants no movement or temporary hit points.
Additional Information
Combat Identity
Scout and protector who detects danger and keeps retreat possible.
Desire Identity
Watchfulness creates personal pressure, while measured intervention steadies companions.
Class Integration
You gain these features at Stalker levels 3rd, 7th, 11th, 15th. This subclass works through Pursuit and the class’s hunting features. Use the costs, triggers, limits, and recovery stated in the individual features and parent class.
Stalker Pursuit Integration — 3rd Level.
Once on each of your turns when Natural Explorer or Primeval Awareness grants you Arousal, choose one willing creature you can see within 30 feet. That creature gains temporary hit points equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum 1) until the start of your next turn. This requires no action. The benefit expresses the same instinctive guidance as the parent class; it does not grant extra Arousal.
Ritual and Social Use
Keep shared watches and attend to companions’ needs without treating emotion as evidence of hostility. The Ritual and Social Identity feature gives the applicable observance and its complete benefits; this guidance adds no additional ritual reward.
Example of Play
Example: A creature hits your companion during your watch. You reduce damage and can accept 1 Arousal to open a small escape. Later, an emotional assault threatens another ally, forcing you to choose between keeping your reaction for protection and spending it, plus Libido, on an EROSave reroll. You protect people through deliberate attention rather than unlimited prevention.
Additional Rules
Canonical Release.
In Veiled Play, when a feature says to gain 1 Arousal, add 1 to your current total. Do not replace your current total with a named emotional state. At 6 Arousal, resolve the applicable Climax Effect, reduce Libido by 1 when Libido is being tracked, and reset Arousal to 0. In Unveiled Play, also apply the website’s Arousal stage effects and normal limit of 3 Arousal gained during a single turn. A feature requiring an Arousal gain grants its associated benefit only if you actually gain that Arousal. Resolve a triggered Climax before continuing; it cannot be cancelled retroactively by reducing Arousal.
These features do not add automatic healing or Exhaustion to every Climax. Use the applicable Climax Effect and current Depletion rules. At 0 Libido, you are Depleted; you can still act and use features without an unpaid Libido cost. Further Climax while Depleted follows the core rules for Exhaustion risk. You cannot spend Libido you do not have. These subclasses neither invent a new Call of the Wild activation nor increase its permitted uses. Their release benefits modify the aftermath of the same Stalker culmination.
Agency and Presentation.
Arousal can represent anticipation, vigilance, or emotional resonance, with scenes described at the table’s preferred intensity. No feature reveals private desires, establishes attraction, compels intimacy, or changes consent. Hostile quarry selection denotes tactical pursuit. It carries no claim over a person. Ritual participation and shared emotional effects require willing participants.
Play Modes and Desire Resolution
Classic Play. Use the baseline feature and any expressly stated Classic alternative, without Arousal or Libido. A feature that only modifies Desire has no additional Classic effect.
Veiled Play. Use the baseline and the feature’s Veiled paragraph. Add each stated Arousal gain to the creature’s current total; never assign Composed, Stirred, or Overwhelmed or replace its existing pressure. Resolve Climax immediately at 6. Do not use the Unveiled paragraph.
Unveiled Play. Use the baseline and the feature’s Unveiled paragraph, together with the website’s full Arousal, Libido, Climax, and Depletion rules. Do not inherit the Veiled paragraph. A Libido expenditure requires enough Libido to pay it. Spending the final point does not disable benefits without a Libido cost.
Each feature retains its stated actions, targets, duration, resource costs, and recharge. Changing play modes restores no uses. A gain-dependent benefit requires the Arousal actually to be gained. Unless explicitly excepted, a creature gains at most 3 Arousal per turn; reductions cannot go below 0. Resolve Climax before continuing a feature or applying any after-Climax benefit: the applicable Climax Effect, 1 Libido loss where tracked, Arousal reset to 0, then applicable aftermath triggers. Healing and Exhaustion occur only when an applicable rule grants or imposes them. An EROSave is the creature’s choice of Constitution or Wisdom saving throw, including proficiency only if proficient in that save. Basic Desire Actions retain their one-per-round limit unless an explicit feature overrides it.
Unless a feature expressly states otherwise, this subclass’s EROSave DC is 8 + PB + your Wisdom modifier. PB means proficiency bonus.
Deity Alignment
This conclave may resonate with Rhaziel, the Divine Stalker, through patient pursuit and disciplined attention. Worship is not required; the tradition can arise through wilderness training, personal conviction, or trust earned on the trail.

Possible personal devotional affinities include Aratheia through care that leaves another person room to act. These are optional thematic interpretations, not requirements for this subclass, additional powers, or a claim over another being.
