Feature: Knots Under Tension

You understand common knots, harnesses, anchors, counterweights, and load-bearing arrangements. By examining an ordinary rope system, you can usually identify its intended purpose, determine whether its visible knots are properly dressed, and recognize obvious signs of fraying, poor weight distribution, or an unreliable anchor.

Given suitable rope and time, you can construct ordinary arrangements for hauling supplies, securing cargo, supporting a climber, lowering an injured person, or creating a temporary safety line. This feature does not eliminate the need for an ability check when conditions are dangerous, the load is extraordinary, or failure carries serious consequences.

Sailors, climbers, stage riggers, rescue workers, builders, rope makers, and professional bondage artists recognize your technical knowledge. They will generally share ordinary information about local suppliers, rigging spaces, reliable anchor points, and practitioners known for safe work.
