Revel of the Velvet Stage

Lore Overview
“A room does not belong to the loudest voice. It belongs to the one everyone is waiting to hear.”
Revelers of the Velvet Stage understand that performance is not merely entertainment. It is command of attention. They learn to shape a room through presence, anticipation and emotional pressure, drawing every eye toward the moment they have chosen to create.
Where other Revelers share emotion or surrender themselves to rhythm, those of the Velvet Stage stand at the center of the gathering and make themselves impossible to ignore. Their Resonance turns attention into leverage, hesitation into opportunity and Crescendo into an overwhelming display of presence.

Draw the Eye
3rd-Level Subclass Feature
Attention is an invitation to a consequential moment.
When your Resonance Technique affects a creature, you may designate it as your Focus until the start of your next turn. You can have only one Focus. It must be able to see or hear your performance.
Once per round, when you designate a Focus, you may invite it to accept pressure. A willing Focus may gain 1 Arousal. An unwilling Focus instead makes an EROSave against your Reveler DC; on failure it gains 1 Arousal, and on success it gains none. Resolve this separately from the Technique. You can make this invitation a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus per Long Rest.
When a creature you can see within 30 feet attacks your Focus, you may use your Reaction before that roll’s outcome is determined to roll your Resonance Die without expending it. Add the result if the attacker is willing; otherwise the attacker makes an EROSave, subtracting the die on failure and suffering no subtraction on success. This Reaction has a separate pool of uses equal to your Proficiency Bonus per Long Rest.
Veiled Play. If the invitation actually increases Arousal, regain one expended Resonance Die. This does not add another Arousal point.
Unveiled Play. If your Focus succeeds on its EROSave against the invitation, one willing ally within 30 feet may reduce Arousal by 1. This does not restore a Resonance Die on an Arousal increase.
Gathering Anticipation
3rd-Level Subclass Feature
The held breath matters as much as the final note.
Once per round, when your Focus gains Arousal or succeeds on an EROSave against one of your Reveler features, the next Resonance Die you roll before the end of your next turn is rolled twice; use either result. This benefit cannot accumulate, does not add dice to Crescendo’s existing rerolls, and expires after one roll.
Once per Long Rest, when your Focus Climaxes within 30 feet while it can perceive your performance, you may use your Reaction after resolving its Climax to restore 1 Libido to yourself.
Veiled Play. After you use the improved die on a Technique, one willing creature affected by that Technique may gain 1 Arousal.
Unveiled Play. After you use the improved die on a Technique, one willing creature affected by that Technique may reduce its Arousal by 1.
Rite of the Waiting Curtain
3rd-Level Subclass Feature
A measured pause makes room for a freely chosen answer.
Lead a 10-minute rehearsal or performance ritual. Choose up to your Proficiency Bonus willing participants. Each gains Advantage on one Performance check within the next hour. A participant can benefit once per Long Rest.
Veiled Play. Each chosen participant may gain or reduce its Arousal by 1.
Unveiled Play. Each chosen participant gains advantage on its next EROSave within 1 hour. This grants no Arousal adjustment.
Rising Pressure
6th-Level Subclass Feature
Every shift of attention creates an opening.
While in Crescendo, once per round when your Focus gains or loses Arousal, fails an EROSave against your Reveler feature, or Climaxes, choose one willing creature within 30 feet. It may move up to 10 feet without provoking Opportunity Attacks, or gain Temporary Hit Points equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1). Changes caused by Rising Pressure cannot trigger it again.
Veiled Play. The chosen creature may also gain 1 Arousal.
Unveiled Play. The chosen creature may reduce Arousal by 1. If the triggering event was the Focus’s Climax, you may spend 1 Libido to grant the baseline movement or temporary hit points to a second willing creature within 30 feet; that creature may also reduce Arousal by 1. This still uses the feature’s single trigger for that round.
Steal the Moment
10th-Level Subclass Feature
A guarded breath can still become part of the performance.
When your Focus succeeds on an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you may use your Reaction to expend one Resonance Die and subtract it from that roll, potentially turning success into failure. A natural 20 on an attack remains a hit. A creature immune to Charmed is immune to this feature. You can use it a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus per Long Rest; the die is spent whether or not the outcome changes.
Veiled Play. If you turn success into failure, the Focus makes an EROSave against your Reveler DC. On failure it gains 1 Arousal; on success it gains none. This additional save cannot itself be altered by Steal the Moment.
Unveiled Play. If you turn success into failure, you may spend 1 Libido to let one willing ally within 30 feet reduce Arousal by 1 and move 5 feet without opportunity attacks. This grants no additional EROSave or Resonance Die refund.
Perfect Crescendo
14th-Level Subclass Feature
The stage opens around the moment of release.
When you trigger Grand Crescendo, choose two of its effects instead of one; each chosen willing creature receives both. Until the start of your next turn, those creatures within 30 feet of you gain a bonus to AC equal to half your Proficiency Bonus, rounded down.
This feature does not trigger Grand Crescendo again or double any effect already selected twice through another feature.
Veiled Play. Each affected creature may gain or reduce its Arousal by 1.
Unveiled Play. Once per long rest, when this feature resolves, one willing affected creature may regain 1 Libido up to its maximum. This shares Gathering Anticipation’s once-per-long-rest restoration; using either expends both. It grants no Arousal adjustment.
Desire Identity
Velvet Stage makes anticipation a tactical choice. Its Focus gathers pressure, resistance becomes Resonance, and a release at the center of attention renews the performer. This Revel controls openings rather than minds: it alters rolls, directs movement, and uses EROSaves without dictating attraction or agreement. Libido is recovered through a carefully timed release, not through an unlimited audience feedback loop.
Limits and agency. The normal limit of 3 Arousal gained during one turn applies; no feature here bypasses it. Resolve each Climax completely before any subsequent Arousal change. A feature cannot trigger itself directly or through another copy of the same feature. One event can restore no more than one Resonance Die through this subclass, in addition to restoration expressly granted by the Reveler class. Restoring dice never exceeds your class maximum. All allied Arousal changes, transfers, movement, and bonds require the affected creature’s agreement. These mechanics never determine attraction, consent, or permanent feelings. An EROSave uses the target’s choice of Constitution or Wisdom, including normal saving throw proficiency, against 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Charisma modifier unless a feature specifies otherwise.
Classic Play. Use the shared feature text. Ignore Arousal and Libido instructions, and use Wisdom saves in place of EROSaves. Once per Long Rest, entering Crescendo may trigger your Grand Crescendo and its subclass improvements without requiring Climax. Desire remains the defining loop in Veiled and Unveiled Play; Classic Play is its separate adaptation.
Play Modes and Desire Resolution
Classic Play. Use the baseline feature and any expressly stated Classic alternative, without Arousal or Libido. A feature that only modifies Desire has no additional Classic effect.
Veiled Play. Use the baseline and the feature’s Veiled paragraph. Add each stated Arousal gain to the creature’s current total; never assign Composed, Stirred, or Overwhelmed or replace its existing pressure. Resolve Climax immediately at 6. Do not use the Unveiled paragraph.
Unveiled Play. Use the baseline and the feature’s Unveiled paragraph, together with the website’s full Arousal, Libido, Climax, and Depletion rules. Do not inherit the Veiled paragraph. A Libido expenditure requires enough Libido to pay it. Spending the final point does not disable benefits without a Libido cost.
Each feature retains its stated actions, targets, duration, resource costs, and recharge. Changing play modes restores no uses. A gain-dependent benefit requires the Arousal actually to be gained. Unless explicitly excepted, a creature gains at most 3 Arousal per turn; reductions cannot go below 0. Resolve Climax before continuing a feature or applying any after-Climax benefit: the applicable Climax Effect, 1 Libido loss where tracked, Arousal reset to 0, then applicable aftermath triggers. Healing and Exhaustion occur only when an applicable rule grants or imposes them. An EROSave is the creature’s choice of Constitution or Wisdom saving throw, including proficiency only if proficient in that save. Basic Desire Actions retain their one-per-round limit unless an explicit feature overrides it.
Unless a feature expressly states otherwise, this subclass’s EROSave DC is 8 + PB + your Charisma modifier. PB means proficiency bonus.
Deity Alignment
Cyrillith, Velzhara, and Eshthara inspire this Revel through attention, reflected identity, and the power of an offered voice.
