When Erosia Leaves Its Clothes Behind
Today marks the Summer Solstice—the longest day of the year and one of the most widely celebrated holidays across Erosia.
While every culture honors the turning of the season differently, one tradition appears again and again from coastlines to mountaintops, from sacred groves to bustling city plazas:
People stop worrying about what they are wearing.
The Solstice is not viewed as a celebration of sexuality alone. It is a celebration of life itself.
After all, Erosia teaches that bodies are not things to be hidden. They are proof that life exists, that the gods succeeded, and that the world continues to bloom.
For many communities, the longest day of the year is spent beneath the open sky with little concern for garments, status, titles, or social barriers. Rich and poor share tables. Nobles dance beside farmers. Priests laugh beside adventurers.
The sun shines on everyone equally.
And for one glorious day, many Erosians choose to do the same.

Children of the Veil
The peoples most closely tied to dreams, spirit, and the Veil often treat the Summer Solstice as a sacred act of presence.
Dreamborn gather beneath moon-touched groves and crystal lakes, spending entire days in song, storytelling, dance, and quiet reflection.
Greenwards (the already Wild Child Elf Race) celebrate among ancient forests where flower crowns, body paint, and woven garlands often replace conventional clothing entirely.
Luminari view the day as a celebration of divine creation. Public bathing pools, rivers, and sunlit terraces become places of communal joy, music, and feasting.
Even the secretive Umbrel emerge from hidden enclaves to participate in twilight festivals where masks may remain, but little else does.
Among the Children of the Veil, the Solstice is less about exhibition and more about authenticity.
For a single day, there is nothing to hide.

Forged & Altered
The Solstice takes on a different meaning among the crafted peoples of Erosia.
Fleshforged often decorate their bodies with painted sigils, polished porcelain, gilded seam-work, and intricate artistic designs. Their celebrations become living galleries where self-expression replaces traditional attire.
Heartstone communities polish gemstones, engrave runes, and display centuries of craftsmanship across their forms.
Gelkin embrace playful festivals involving water, dyes, floating lanterns, and colorful body transformations that shift throughout the day.
Sparkin celebrations are loud, brilliant, and spectacular. Sparks, magical lights, fireworks, and dancing electrical displays illuminate entire settlements from dawn until long after sunset.
Among the Forged & Altered peoples, the body is art.
The Solstice simply provides the perfect gallery.

Fur & Feathered
No group embraces the Solstice quite like the peoples of Fur & Feather.
Many Beastkin communities already wear minimal clothing throughout the year, making the holiday less about removing garments and more about embracing instinct, freedom, and community.
Lapinari fields erupt into games, races, contests, and communal picnics stretching from sunrise until moonrise.
Felinari cities become sprawling celebrations of music, dance, performance, and playful competition.
Lupinari host enormous communal feasts where entire packs gather to strengthen bonds through food, storytelling, and ritual.
Ramari, Ursari, Cervani, Vulpinari, Corvani, Raptari, Strigari, and Avarian communities all maintain their own traditions, but nearly all share one common belief:
The body was never something shameful.
The Solstice is simply a reminder.

Mortal Races
The Mortal Races often host the largest public celebrations in Erosia.
Bloodoath festivals feature contests of strength, athletic games, music, and enormous communal feasts.
Hearthkin communities transform village greens into open-air celebrations filled with dancing, food, laughter, and enough drink to fuel stories for years afterward.
Silkborn cities become seas of colorful ribbons, flower garlands, perfumes, and elaborate body art. Entire districts close to traffic so festivals can spill into every street and plaza.
Oathbound celebrations often begin with solemn blessings before transforming into joyful public gatherings where social rank matters far less than shared community.
Stonebound settlements host some of the oldest Solstice traditions in the world, gathering around ancient monuments that have witnessed countless generations welcoming the height of summer.
For many mortals, the holiday is simple.
Life is short.
The sun is warm.
The food is plentiful.
Enjoy it while you can.

Shadow, Grace, Dragon & Giant Kin
The more unusual peoples of Erosia bring equally unusual traditions.
Graceborn celebrations resemble divine pageantry, combining music, performance, and radiant displays of beauty.
Bloomtouched often spend the day among sacred groves, adorning themselves with living flowers rather than clothing.
Dracari gather upon cliffs, terraces, and elevated places where they can bask beneath the sun’s warmth while sharing stories, food, and flights across open skies.
Hollow-Souled communities often view the Solstice as a day of healing and belonging—a reminder that even those who feel disconnected still have a place beneath the same sun.
Among the Colossi, celebrations can become legendary. Entire villages may gather for communal feasts hosted by giant-blooded families, with games, contests, and stories lasting well into the night.
Few can match a Hillblood harvest feast.
And few survive one without needing a nap afterward.

One Sky, One Sun, One Day
Not every Erosian celebrates the Summer Solstice in the same way.
Some gather in temples.
Some gather around bonfires.
Some spend the day dancing.
Others spend it quietly beside a lake or beneath a flowering tree.
Some wear elaborate festival attire.
Others wear nothing at all.
What unites them is not nudity, nor revelry, nor ritual.
It is gratitude.
For life.
For community.
For warmth.
For another year beneath the sun.
And as the longest day slowly yields to evening, laughter carries across fields, beaches, forests, cities, and mountains alike.
For a brief moment, all of Erosia remembers the same truth:
Existence is a gift.
And gifts are meant to be celebrated.
