Description
An illusory afterimage follows one step behind you. The first time before the spell ends that a creature makes an opportunity attack against you and can see you, it must make an Intelligence saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, that opportunity attack has disadvantage. The afterimage then vanishes and the spell ends. A creature with truesight automatically succeeds on the save. The illusion does not grant cover or alter your actual location.
Velvet Court Devotion. Cyrillith. Cyrillith’s stagecraft delights in doubles, false cues and the old joke that every graceful exit deserves a rehearsal.
Devotional Rite. When the duplicate vanishes, you may make it perform a final theatrical bow. An observer with truesight recognizes the trick automatically, and the bow provides no further protection.
- Veiled Effects. If the attacker fails its save, you may leave a harmless duplicate footprint in the space you just departed; it disappears after one round.
- Unveiled Effects. When the attack is made with disadvantage because of a failed save, you may gain 1 Arousal after the attack resolves. If you do, increase your movement speed by 5 feet until the end of the current turn. Alternatively, spend 1 Libido when casting to extend the spell’s duration to 10 minutes; you cannot choose both enhancements.
