Where Beauty Learns Teeth
“Many flowers invite touch. Wisdom asks why.” – Orchidian saying
Orchidians are living floral peoples born where beauty and danger entwine. Their oldest myths claim they first bloomed in sacred jungles where gods of life, desire, decay, and patience all shed power into the same fertile soil. From that impossible union rose beings who embodied attraction, resilience, and consequence in equal measure.
To the unwise, Orchidians appear to be gentle children of gardens and perfume. Those who know them better understand that flowers survive through strategy. They lure pollinators, mimic prey, deceive predators, store poison, bloom rarely, and root deeply. Orchidians inherited all these lessons.
Some Orchidian enclaves thrive in hidden conservatories, mist valleys, greenhouse cities, overgrown ruins, temple gardens, and jungle canopies threaded with hanging bridges. Others dwell comfortably among mixed societies as healers, perfumers, diplomats, courtesans, herbalists, scholars, assassins, and artists.
They are often associated with allure, but Orchidians do not view beauty as vanity. Beauty is communication. Fragrance is language. Color is warning, invitation, mourning, fertility, or celebration. Bloom is not decoration—it is intention made visible.
Many Orchidians are warm, generous, and nurturing. Many are also patient enough to outlast cruelty. Like roots beneath stone, they know soft things can break hard ones slowly.
Orchidians Appearance

Orchidians are fully botanical humanoids composed of living plant matter. Their bodies may resemble polished bark, smooth stem-flesh, petal-soft surfaces, layered vine musculature, or elegant wood grain.
Faces are expressive and beautiful through floral logic rather than human flesh: carved bark jawlines, petal lips, luminous pollen eyes, leaf brows, blossom crowns, or smooth orchid-mask features.
Hair is formed from blossoms, petals, stamens, trailing vines, leaves, moss, or braided roots.
Their colors vary by lineage and bloom type:
- white moon orchids
- crimson jungle blooms
- violet royal orchids
- blush and cream petals
- jade and emerald growth
- rare black orchids with iridescent sheen
They often scent the air subtly according to mood, season, or intention.
Orchidians Society

Orchidian culture values patience, reciprocity, beauty with purpose, memory, and adaptation. Communities may be called groves, bloom courts, glasshouses, root sanctums, terrace gardens, or pollen halls.
Several values are common:
Growth. Stagnation is slow death.
Pollination. Good things spread through contact.
Seasonality. Not all times are for blooming.
Boundaries. Beauty does not equal access.
Resilience. Broken branches regrow.
Celebrations often include scent rites, bloom festivals, nectar feasts, masked dances, seed exchanges, poetry, and nighttime lantern gardens.
Orchidians Adventurers

Orchidians leave home to:
- gather rare seeds or sacred cuttings
- heal blighted lands
- study cultures beyond the grove
- test beauty against harsher worlds
- avenge burned sanctuaries
- spread rare perfumes or medicines
- seek climates where they may become something new
They thrive as druids, monks, rogues, clerics, rangers, bards, assassins, and warlocks.
