Description
You create a thumb-sized illusory flame in an unoccupied space or on an unattended object within range. It sheds dim light in a 5-foot radius but creates no heat. As a bonus action, you may extinguish or rekindle the illusion and move it up to 10 feet within range. A creature using its action to inspect the flame can identify it as illusory with an Intelligence (Investigation) check against your spell save DC. The spell ends if the flame moves behind total cover from you.
Velvet Court Devotion. Delavira. Delavira claims that the most tempting candle is the one snuffed a heartbeat before anyone can admire it; anticipation is the real illumination.
Devotional Rite. When you extinguish the candle, one willing creature that can see it may delay the harmless illusory scent until the start of its next turn. This changes no detection rolls and reveals no private desire.
- Veiled Effects. When you extinguish the flame, you may leave behind a harmless candle scent that persists until the start of your next turn, making its disappearance less conspicuous.
- Unveiled Effects. If a hostile creature spends its action investigating the flame during an actual encounter, you may gain 1 Arousal after the check resolves. You can gain Arousal through Candlewink only once per encounter. It does not impose Arousal on the observer.
