Description
You create an illusory echo of yourself in an unoccupied space you can see within range. The echo occupies its space but is intangible, cannot attack, manipulate objects, provide cover, or block movement, and has no hit points. It mimics your gestures and voice. As a bonus action on each of your turns, you can move it up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see within range and cause it to speak up to twenty words in your voice.
When a creature you can see within 5 feet of the echo makes an attack roll against you, you may use your reaction to make the echo lunge into the attacker’s apparent line of sight. You do not teleport or change your actual position. The attacker must make an Intelligence saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, it makes that attack roll with disadvantage; on a successful save, it rolls normally. An attacker with truesight automatically succeeds on the save. After the attack resolves, the echo vanishes and the spell ends. The echo also vanishes if it ends any movement more than 60 feet from you or if you dismiss it (no action required).
Velvet Court Devotion. Cyrillith. Cyrillith’s stagecraft celebrates the illusory understudy who takes a bow in the wrong place, allowing the performer to choose whether to enjoy the attention.
Devotional Rite. When your echo disappears after defending you, you may have it deliver a silent bow to one creature able to see it. That gesture is purely theatrical and does not charm, distract, or alter the spell’s saving throw.
- Veiled Effects. Once during the spell, when you use your bonus action to move the echo, you may have it imitate distracting footsteps or speech. One willing creature within 30 feet of the echo gains advantage on the next Dexterity (Stealth) check it makes to Hide before the start of your next turn. That creature must still have the normal means to Hide.
- Unveiled Effects. When an attacker fails its Intelligence saving throw against the echo, you may gain 1 Arousal after the attack resolves. Alternatively, when you use the spell’s reaction, you may spend 1 Libido to keep the echo from vanishing after that attack. The echo then vanishes after the next use of this spell’s reaction. You can benefit from either enhancement only once per casting and cannot choose both.
