Description
You touch up to one gallon of nonmagical water or other drinkable liquid. You learn whether it contains a mundane poison, whether it is safe for a typical humanoid to drink, and whether it has been mixed with another liquid within the last hour. You do not identify specific ingredients, reveal the source of contamination, or purify the liquid.
Velvet Court Devotion. Aratheia. Aratheia’s milkmaid-priests bless both nourishing cups and dubious tavern drinks; feeding someone safely matters more than the fancy vessel.
Devotional Rite. If the tested liquid is safe and a willing creature drinks it during the next minute, the caster may make it taste faintly of the drinker’s favorite comforting meal. This is harmless and reveals no secret preference.
- Veiled Effects. If you detect contamination, a harmless flower-shaped ripple marks the liquid for one minute so willing companions can recognize the warning.
- Unveiled Effects. When the spell reveals an actual, previously unsuspected hazard to a creature intending to drink the liquid, you may gain 1 Arousal. If you do, one willing creature within 5 feet has advantage on its next saving throw against poison before the end of its next hour. This caster gain may occur once per long rest.
“The sweetest cup still deserves a moment of care.”
