Description
Your footfalls briefly drift away from your body as ghostly echoes. Until the start of your next turn, the sound of your movement appears to originate from a point you choose within 10 feet of your actual position. The spell does not make you invisible, conceal your physical tracks, or grant permission to Hide where you otherwise cannot.
Velvet Court Devotion. Delavira. Delavira’s tease and denial rites value the lingering sound of departure, a sensual promise of presence without granting possession.
Devotional Rite. Once per casting when the spell helps you evade an active pursuer, you may voluntarily leave a clearly audible footfall at your true location after your movement. If you do, another willing creature within 10 feet of you has advantage on its next Dexterity (Stealth) check to move unnoticed before the beginning of its next turn, while that pursuer can locate your current square by sound if it can hear.
- Veiled Effects. Before the spell ends, you may add 1d4 to one Dexterity (Stealth) check made to avoid being located by hearing, provided you have normal cover or concealment from the observer.
- Unveiled Effects. If the spell helps you successfully evade a creature actively pursuing you, you may gain 1 Arousal when the check succeeds. If you do, you may move an additional 5 feet immediately without provoking opportunity attacks from that pursuer. You can gain Arousal through this spell once per encounter.
“A footstep is only a rumor the floor tells.”
