Description
You touch a willing creature and lend it a moment of warmth. Once before the spell ends, the creature may add 1d4 to a Charisma (Performance) check made to greet an audience, deliver a toast, or introduce itself. The creature chooses whether to use the bonus after rolling but before knowing the outcome. The spell does not compel friendliness or change another creature’s attitude.
Velvet Court Devotion. Velzhari. Velzhari’s praise-circles practice self-admiration without requiring an audience’s approval; the borrowed smile is a gift to the wearer.
Devotional Rite. When the spell’s Performance bonus succeeds, the willing target may choose to make its magical smile visible as a pearly shimmer for one round. Observers are free to feel as they wish.
- Veiled Effects. If the check succeeds, the target may let one willing listener within 10 feet gain advantage on its next Wisdom (Insight) check made before the end of its next turn.
- Unveiled Effects. If the performance sincerely comforts at least one distressed listener and succeeds on the aided check, you may gain 1 Arousal and allow the target to reduce its Arousal by 1. This caster gain can occur only once per long rest.
“A kindness borrowed becomes a kindness multiplied.”
