Description
Choose up to two willing creatures you can see within range. Each perceives a small illusory ribbon over the other’s shoulder, visible only to those creatures and you. Once during the duration, either creature may use a bonus action to change its ribbon to one of three colors chosen when you cast this spell. This conveys a prearranged signal, not words. The spell ends for a creature that moves more than 120 feet from you.
Velvet Court Devotion. Zenthira. Zenthira’s hidden-desire fraternities use private colors to acknowledge uncommon preferences without turning them into public announcements.
Devotional Rite. Each pair of willing recipients may agree on meanings for the three colors when the spell is cast. These meanings are private choices and do not grant extra communication beyond the spell’s three permitted signals.
- Veiled Effects. Either recipient may dismiss its ribbon at any time without an action, causing the other ribbon to briefly turn gray before both disappear.
- Unveiled Effects. When one recipient uses the signal to warn the other of a genuine danger it has spotted, you may gain 1 Arousal. If you do, the warned recipient has advantage on its next Wisdom (Perception) check against that danger before the end of its next turn. You can gain Arousal from this spell once per encounter.
“Three colors can say more than a thousand careless words.”
