Description

Touch a willing creature. A spectral knot settles on its wrist for the duration. Once before the spell ends, when it makes a saving throw against becoming frightened, it may roll 1d4 and add the result to the save. The knot disappears after the roll. A creature can benefit from only one Gentle Knot at a time.

Velvet Court Devotion. Mirellune. Mirellune’s chosen-bond rites teach that the most sacred restraints always possess an exit the wearer can use.

Devotional Rite. Once while the knot lasts, the willing target may voluntarily reduce its speed to 0 until the end of its turn to gain advantage on a saving throw against becoming frightened made during that turn. It must make this choice before rolling and can decline at any time; it grants no benefit if the target’s speed is already 0.

  • Veiled Effects. If the saving throw succeeds, the target may stand from prone without expending movement at the start of its next turn.
  • Unveiled Effects. When the knot helps the creature succeed on that saving throw, you may gain 1 Arousal after the save. If you do, the target may reduce its Arousal by 1. You can gain Arousal from this spell once per long rest, and the target must be willing.

“Courage is the thread that holds when fear pulls.”
